Thief caught green-handed by British police trap

Posted on – A thief was captured not a lot red-handed as green-faced in London after getting into a car because splashed him with a fluid that shines emerald under ultraviolet light.

Yafet Askale, 28, rejected going into the vehicle that authorities set up with a dye-trap in Harlesden, northwest London, to capture burglars in June.

But he was found guilty of taking objects inside the car after authorities produced pictures showing his face protected with the fluid, invisible under normal light.

Askale, from Harlesden, was punished to 49 hrs of community solution and ordered to pay 400 extra pounds ($650) costs on Friday. Authorities launched pictures of Askale on Monday, warning they had set up comparable catches in the location in cars and houses.
